I was born in South Africa and spent my youth reading books about adventure and dreaming about far away places. I started driving my dad's car at the age of 8 and had to wait another 10 years to get my driving licence. My first car was an Anglia 100E in 1963 and since that time I have had 102 vehicles of which 23 have been four wheel drives.I got into camping and exploring at an early age and visited many game parks and outdoor areas. I arrived in Australia when I was in my mid 20's and acquired my first four wheel drive, a Suzuki LJ50, in 1977. Exploring, camping and photographing rock art has been my passion over the past 40 years.
